Firm History

A private company, Cougar Global Investments was founded in 1993 by Dr. James Breech who had devoted the previous 12 years to developing the Cougar Global investment management platform.  Control of the company resides with the Board of Directors.  Half of the Board consists of the largest outside shareholders, and the remaining members are appointed by Dr. Breech.  The Chairman is independent.

Since its inception, the firm’s assets under management have grown to $209,500,000.  Cougar Global Investments has 300 clients in Canada, the US, the UK, and Europe. 

Cougar Global Investments is registered in each province of Canada where its current clients reside and is also registered as a “non-resident advisor” with the Securities and Exchange Commission in the United States.
